“MAKE LACHHA PARATHA WITH LOTS OF LACHHA IN THIS EASY WAY.”
•Lachha Paratha is one of the famous dishes of North Indian and also a delicious dish in Kerala. Which are soft, flaky, crunchy, soft and supple as well. The method of making Lachha Paratha is very easy. There is even a street named Paratha Gali in the capital of our country! The word “Lachha” in Punjabi means ring.
INGREDIENTS FOR LACHHA PARATHA.
•1/3-1/4 cups wheat flour.
•Salt as required.
•Ghee/oil for making parathas.
•Preparation time: 20 minutes
•Cooking time: 5 minutes
•Total time: 25 minutes
~Method:-
STEP 1: Knead and prepare the dough for Lachha Paratha.
To knead the dough for Lachha Paratha, put all purpose flour, 1- 1/2 tbsp ghee and salt in a bowl. Mix it well. Then with the help of a little water, knead the mixture and make a dough.
STEP 2: Roll the Dough.
Firstly divide the dough into 6 equal parts. Then roll the dough into round shape (if necessary use wheat flour for rolling).
STEP 3: Make a layer of the rolled out dough.
The most important step in making Lachha Paratha is to make the perfect layer. Put a small spoon of ghee in the rolled dough and sprinkle some flour on it. Then start making layers by folding small portions of the dough. Now you have just one row of dough with several layers underneath.
STEP 4: Re-roll the layer.
Now you have to roll the layer like a swiss roll. Then, seal the end by pressing against the bottom of the dough. Put the Swiss roll dough in the wheat flour and start making parathas from the sealed side (opposite to the Swiss roll which was on the top side earlier).
STEP 5: Cook the Lachha Paratha.
After rolling the paratha, place it on the pan and roast it from one side. Add some ghee and turn it over. Press the paratha lightly so that it gets cooked well.
STEP 6: Ready to Serve.
Once it is cooked from both the sides, take it out in a plate and then press lightly from both the sides with your hands. This will make the layers of the lachha paratha more visible. Repeat the same process for the remaining five dough balls. Finally your Lachha Paratha is ready to be served. You can eat this delicious Lachha Paratha with your favorite vegetable.
