•On hearing the name of Gulkand, the thought of rose comes. Everyone likes Gulkand in paan. According to Ayurveda, Gulkand is very beneficial. It pacifies pitta and cools the body.

•Gulkand is also used in Shrikhand, Ice Cream, Shake, Chapati Roll and Bread etc. Gulkand is also used in the form of Gulkand Chutney and Gulkand Jam.

•The rose season starts from the month of October and fresh roses are available throughout the winter. This is a very suitable time for making Gulkand. It is very easy to make beneficial Gulkand at home without any preservatives and reap the benefits.

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING GULKAND.

•Rose leaves- 250 grams

•Kunja Mishri- 250 grams

•Honey 20 ml

•Glass pan lid

~How to make Gulkand?

•Grind Kunja Mishri.

•For filling Gulkand, wash the glass jar with hot water and dry it.

•Take fresh native roses, separate their leaves from the stalk and clean them by taking out the garbage etc.

•Wash the cleaned rose leaves with water and put them in a sieve for some time and take out the water.

•After the water of the leaves is drained, spread the leaves on a clean cotton cloth.

•When the water of the rose leaves dries up, then it is to be filled in the jar. Its method is as follows:-

First some sugar candy, then rose leaves, then sugar candy and rose leaves in this way fill all the leaves and sugar candy in a glass container.

Cover it and keep it in the sun.

On the second day the sugar candy will melt. Stir it with a clean spoon.

Similarly, keep the bottle in sunlight daily and shake it once daily.

After ten days the sugar candy will melt and the leaves of the rose will also start looking like Gulkand.

Add honey to it and mix it.

The initial form of Gulkand is ready, but it takes about a month to complete it.

Gulkand is made in how many days it depends on the heat of the sun, if the sun is strong then it is made a little sooner.

Things to keep in mind while making Gulkand

Roses for Gulkand should be fragrant, fresh and native. Only native roses are beneficial.

Rose leaves should not be soaked in water. Otherwise, the nutrients of the rose get lost in the water.

After washing the leaves, spread it on the cloth to dry only water, the leaves should not dry up.

Sugar can also be used in place of sugar candy, but the use of sugar candy is beneficial from the point of view of health.

Sugar or sugar is not frozen in Gulkand, for this honey is added, which is also beneficial for health.

Gulkand does not require any preservatives.

Benefits, uses and home remedies of Gulkand

Gulkand contains natural fiber, so it removes constipation. It is also very beneficial in piles.
